Kathleen chose the Lotus Flower as the logo for her private practice, as they have the unique ability to survive in muddy, humid swamps, discarding dirt and mud from their petals as they grow toward the surface, absorbing sunlight and water, and then producing magnificent flowers. Her goal as a psychotherapist is to assist clients in experiencing a similar process of growth and self-awareness by gaining an understanding of who they are and what they need, in order to feel fulfilled in life and in their relationships.
Kathleen utilizes an eclectic approach with a foundation of Mindfulness Psychology, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and Psychodynamic/Experiential Therapy. This journey involves addressing current concerns and goals, exploring family of origin dynamics, examining a timeline of experiences, and identifying beliefs and assumptions. Through this process she is able to gain a better understanding of where the client is stuck, and guide them to greater health, awareness, connection, and intimacy in their life and relationships.
Married 32 years with three adult children ages 29, 27 and 23, and two beautiful grandsons ages 3 and 1, Kathleen combines real-life experience with her clinical expertise. She and her husband have recently become full-time Lake Arrowhead residents!
